Eat out on the second Saturday of each month at the Ruby Tuesday in Clemmons and tell them you are supporting HSDC; the company will remit 20% of your tab back to HSDC. That's all you have to do to help HSDC each month. Click the following link for the event flyer.
HSDC offers a monthly spay/neuter clinic transport service to all local pet owners. On the second Wednesday of each month, a van from the Humane Society of the Piedmont in Greensboro comes to the adoption center for pet pick-up. The pets are taken to the clinic for surgery, monitored overnight, and returned to Mocksville the next morning. The clinic offers very affordable pricing for surgery on both dogs and cats. The clinic requires a current rabies vaccine for each animal; if a pet owner cannot show documentation for a current rabies vaccination, then the clinic will provide the rabies vaccination for an additional charge. Reservations and payment for the clinic transport must be made at least one week in advance. Call the adoption center at 751-5214 for additional information on both programs. See the APPLICATION to determine if you qualify for NC government assistance for the spay/neuter surgery.
The Humane Society wants to help ensure that Davie County pets are vaccinated against rabies, to protect them and the public against this terrible disease. We hope to offer quarterly low-cost rabies clinics at various sites around the county. Pet owners bringing their pets to a clinic will need to follow the following rules:
•For dogs and cats only
•All dogs must be on leash
•All cats must be crated
•Payment in cash only please
•3-year shots require proof of vaccination
***The next scheduled rabies clinic is yet to be determined . . . . . . check back often!
Area stores such as PetSmart, WalMart, and Tractor Supply support HSDC by allowing on-site adoption fairs. Stay tuned for when HSDC will hold an adoption fair in your area. Volunteers are needed to manage adoption fairs.
