Previous Happy Tails

I adopted Ginger in July (more like she adopted me). She has become my biggest source of entertainment! She gets bursts of energy and runs laps around the dining room table - her NASCAR moves - all left turns. One of the reasons that she makes me smile so much is because she was sooooo timid when she first came home with me. It's been a joy to watch her relax and come into her own. Thanks for taking good care of her until we were brought together!!!
dollbaby the cat

We adopted Dollbaby (you named her Bella) on January 18, 2008. That morning our previous cat was run over and killed. Dollbaby had big shoes to fill and she has done just that. We made a bed for her in the kitchen and she never made a peep on the first night. Now she sleeps wherever she wants to, is playful, meets strangers well, and our 13-year-old blue-gray tolerates her. We love our Dollbaby!
clara the daog

Attached is a photo of Clara we adopted her Nov 27,2007! She has been a wonderful pet! She is sweet and loving and very smart. She also loves to cuddle. She has made great friends with our other dogs. We just love her!

lexi

Lexi has been the best pet ever! She is such a silly girl. My other animals love her to death. I have two dogs and one other cat. She took right to all of them. I've never seen animals so loving to each other like they are. Thank you so much for letting Lexi be a part of our lives.

queen the dog

I called the Davie County Humane Society and scheduled a visit with Queen. My husband and I went to see her and it was love at first sight! She has been a part of our family for almost 1 year. She is a wonderful companion and is absolutely the BEST dog that I have EVER had! She loves the grandchildren and they get along great! She watches over them. One night my youngest grandson woke up crying and would not stop. Queen came over to us and began talking (it sounded more like singing to him), and he stopped crying and began laughing.

liza and gracie

Liza and Gracie grew fast. They love to play, run, sleep, and explore everything! Their favorite place to chill out is the bathtub! They are so much fun all the time. They are loving and friendly. Gracie, who was shy when I adopted her, is not very shy any more. Liza and Gracie enrich my life tremendously. I enjoy loving them and they seem to enjoy taking care of me, too. I couldn't ask for more! Thank you sincerely for all that you do for our animal friends.

lambeau

We took Lambeau camping and his big sister taught him how to swim. He chased deer and had a great time. He is so fast that we thought he might have some greyhound in him but a man from the greyhound rescue said he looks like a Whippet. Whatever he is, he is the sweetest little boy that likes to play with the cat and snuggle in the bed with us. He has been a wonderful addition to our family.

simba the cat

When we adopted Simba, he had the name of Whiskers. We experienced a cat that had passed away and as a family we were very sad. Dad surprised us by putting Him in his coat and had it zipped up to where we could not see him and out he came. We freaked out!! Since that day, Simba we have learned is a pig, he loves his belly rubbed and is extremely loving. If you are laying in the bed on your side, he will climb on you and let you pet him while he grooms you. I am so Thankful for your shelter and the happiness you’ve brought to our lives.

rebel the dog

Rebel lives with our other two rescue dogs who all stay in a fenced lot during the day, and have the run of all the open land anytime we are at home. When outside, Rebel stays close to home and enjoys taking in all of the scents of the nearby wildlife. He has made friends with our neighbors and their dogs, and is adored by everyone. He is very affectionate, and has grown especially close to my wife since she is the one who is always caring for him.
