Adoptions

At the Humane Society of Davie County, second chances are our first priority! We are committed to lowering the euthanasia rate in NC by helping dogs and cats find loving homes. Adding a new pet is a major commitment and should not be taken lightly. When you’re ready to add a pet to your family, please check out our adoptable animals.

Once you find the pet you’re interested in, click on the animal’s picture to start the application process. We recommend applications be filled out on a desktop PC or laptop.  Applications submitted through a mobile device do not always come through.

  • Once you have submitted an application online, our adoptions team will reach out to discuss what comes next. Our team will review your application and discuss details about what you’ll need to prepare for your new addition. We’ll provide you with more information about your new pet and review his/her medical history, vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter surgery, and any other behavioral needs. We’re happy to help answer any questions you may have about training, veterinary care, nutrition, grooming, or anything else related to your new pet.

  • HSDC requires that all adopted animals must be spayed or neutered as a condition of adoption.
