Participate in our annual giving campaigns to underwrite our rescue and adoption programs. Your gift makes a difference in how much we can accomplish.
Organize your friends or community organization to sponsor a donation drive for HSDC. Successful drives have come from birthday parties, students and classrooms, civic groups, and more.
Consider donations of the following supplies: paper towels, bleach, high efficiency washing detergent, dishwasher detergent, hand soap, toilet tissue, and hand sanitizer. For pet food donations, please purchase Pedigree Puppy and Adult dog food and Purina Kitten Chow and Purina One Adult Salmon Flavor for cats. We prefer to have the animals on a consistent diet to help them maintain a healthy digestive system.
What better way to honor a pet or a pet lover in your life than a donation to the Humane Society in honor or memory of that pet or person? Such gifts are acknowledged both to the donor and the honoree, and appear in our quarterly newsletter. In this way, your compassion shines through and you are helping other pets still waiting to find their forever homes.
The Humane Society of Davie County’s planned giving program provides a powerful tool to make a long-term statement of support for a cause that is meaningful to you. Planned gifts can help with effective tax reduction strategies while helping the HSDC generate the resources needed to save abandoned animals for years to come. Planned giving can be as simple as adding a bequest or setting up a charitable trust to HSDC. By combining charitable giving with your financial and estate planning you will create a personalized, lasting legacy in your community. For more information on Planned Giving options, call 336-751-5214 and ask to speak with the President.
Donate your car, truck, RV, motorcycle, boat or other vehicle the CARS way. CARS makes it easy to donate your vehicle. To get started, go to http://www.cardonatingiseasy.org/ and choose HSDC to donate to; complete the secure online donation form or call 855-500-RIDE (7433) to speak to a representative. All that you will need to provide is the Certificate of Title upon pickup of your donated vehicle.
We welcome your help as a volunteer. Volunteers are needed to help feed, socialize, and exercise the pets as well as to help with cleaning chores.
HSDC’s youth volunteer program offers youth (ages 13 & up) the opportunity to volunteer at HSDC without a parent or guardian. Youth volunteers can help out in a variety of ways including but not limited to: pet care, dog and cat socialization, cleaning, adoption fairs, dog walking, and fundraisers. We hope to include obedience training as a youth volunteer opportunity in the future. Youth volunteers must be accompanied by our youth volunteer coordinator until they reach age 16.
Volunteers that choose to work directly with our animals will develop skills in care and socialization for cats and dogs. This is beneficial to both the volunteer and the rescue pets they care for, increasing their adopt-ability. For those volunteers that choose not to work one-on-one with pets, there are many other tasks available that are both fun for the volunteer and beneficial to HSDC. Youth volunteers that elect not to handle animals are expected to help in a variety of other aspects. The Humane Society of Davie County is happy to work with students to fulfill service hours that may be required for school.
We appreciate your interest!
